WHAT I BELIEVE
Children don't always use the best strategies to achieve their goals. Sometimes this is because they're not clear about their goals; sometimes they don't recognize the expectations of their environment. Sometimes their predictions about what will work are not accurate, and sometimes they're unwilling to take the risk of trying something different.
Using a variety of methods, I have been very successful helping children assess their social environments, select strategies that will lead to success and feel confident in achieving their goals. My focus is on what the child can do and helping him or her use strengths to solve social problems effectively. In conjunction with that it is important to help parents, teachers, coaches and others learn what supports the child's efforts to succeed.
